How to Convert iPhone Photos to JPG

There are three practical routes. Which one fits depends on whether you want future photos as JPG or need to fix photos you already have.

Option 1: shoot in a compatible format

On the iPhone, open Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible. New photos are saved as JPG. This does not change photos you already took, and files will be larger.

Option 2: let iOS convert when you share

When you send photos by AirDrop to a Windows PC or attach from the Photos app, iOS often converts to a compatible format automatically. The result depends on the destination, so it is not guaranteed.

Option 3: convert HEIC files in your browser

  1. Open the HEIC to JPG converter.
  2. Drop in your HEIC files or choose them from the file picker. You can add many at once.
  3. Leave quality at the default or adjust it, then wait for the conversion to finish.
  4. Download each JPG, or use Download all for a ZIP.

The conversion runs in your browser, so photos are not uploaded. Location and camera metadata are not copied into the JPG, which is useful when sharing.

Things to know

  • Live Photos convert as a still frame only.
  • JPG is lossy; keep the HEIC originals if you want to preserve everything.
  • Very large batches can use a lot of memory on a phone. Convert in smaller groups if the page becomes slow.
